Ginger

Feeling dizzy and have a bitter taste in your mouth ? You could be having an imbalance of Tridosa (Vatha, Pitta and Kabam). Try this out. Ingredients easily available.








1) GINGER (Zingiber Officinale)

It’s nature is carminative, Stomachic, Digestive, Stimulant, Rubefacient (causing dilation of the capillaries and an increase in blood circulation), Sialogogue (promotes the secretion of saliva).

Highly effective against nausea, stomach distention, Expelling wind from body. Keeps body warm.

2) LIME (Citrus Limon)

It’s nature is Rubefacient and Carminative (relieving flatulence). High in Vitamin C.

3) Honey

It’s antibacterial. Anti-inflammatory and stimulates immune responses.


Try this out…

1 teaspoon of Clear Ginger Juice*
1 teaspoon of Lime Juice
1 teaspoon of Honey

Mix all of these three ingredients well and drink it on an empty stomach every morning & evening for 1 week. You can try it again after an interval of 3 days.

*(pounded ginger -  squeezed using clean cotton cloth, collected in a glass and let it set
For 20 minutes and only use the clear juice)

Tip 4


Is your child coughing badly, and unable to cough out phlegm,  especially at night. 

Try this….

Warm about 3 betel leaves over a gas stove and place it on the chest of your child. It helps to dislodged phlegm, relieves chest congestion. Leaves can be removed after 30 minutes. Best done at night before bedtime. (Remember to check heat of leaves before placing on chest)



Tip 5

Having Constipation ? 

Try this….





Chew 2 betel leaves with 2 pcs of rock salt (Kal Uppu) before bedtime.  This is a very common Patti Vaithiyam remedy.


Tip 6

Suffering from headache ? 

Try this…



Crush 2 -3 betel leaves and apply the juice on the forehead. The analgesic and cooling properties will help to relieve headache.



Tip 7    

Try this for oral care….






Chew a betel leaf after meal or after dinner. It cleanses the mouth, freshens breath, strengthens and promotes healthy gums and treats sores in the mouth. Or you can also boil 2 -3 betel leaves and gargle before bedtime.
